ALES Undergraduate Student Services provides academic support to assist you in achieving your academic goals.  Additionally, there are a range of personal and financial support services across campus to help you to thrive as a University of Alberta student.

The university experience is largely about your experiences inside the classroom and can be greatly enhanced by what you experience outside of the classroom.  With many opportunities for you to engage with the Faculty of ALES and the university beyond the classroom, there is something for everyone.

Programs

A learning environment focused on you!

The Faculty of ALES offers smaller class sizes and professors who are more accessible. You'll learn scientific principles as well as how to apply them through experiential learning. We provide many scholarship opportunities and, as a U of A student, you'll also have many opportunities to study and/or work abroad.

Our unique programs look at issues from different perspectives, combining the natural sciences with the social sciences and the arts and humanities to seek solutions to some of today's major issues such as climate change, environmental sustainability, protection and reclamation, food production and food safety, animal production and health, the relationship between food and health, sustainable agriculture, natural resource economics, rural sociology, business management in the agriculture, food and forest industries, child and family studies, and textiles and clothing, to name a few.
