Financial assistance for graduate students is available on a competitive basis. Each year, over forty awards are offered to graduate students by academic staff and various agencies and endowments. Graduate Students Stipends - minimum of $19,000 per annum for students in the MSc thesis-based graduate program and $21,000 per annum for students in the PhD graduate program. Annual stipends may be supplemented by a teaching assistantship.
AFNS Incentive Offer. A one time incentive offer of $5,000 may be available to NSERC, NHRDP, AHFMR or SSHRC or major scholarship holders who are admitted to graduate studies in the Department. Students must enquire if the offer is available in their area of interest.
Walter H Johns Graduate Fellowship
Graduate students are encouraged to apply for scholarships, fellowships and other awards. Additional award information is provided on the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research. Applications are normally due in the department One Month prior to the deadline date indicated by the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research.
